One man's trash...

There she was sitting amongst the

trash cans begging me to love her...

A simple yard sale made

my heart skip beats as the gentleman

said I could " take the trash off of his hands "

She was missing much of her back and yet

she held her beauty with chippy remnants

of paint and beveled drawers...

Even with her weather beaten top

I knew I could not leave her behind...

Mr. Dior spent many hours along side me

as we worked to bring new life

back to her...

She fit so perfectly in the Dior home...

Along side my rusted

clocks and coral...

I was so delighted that

she still had her original hardware...

I'm sure that I will

dress her up throughout the summer...

With driftwood

and gifts from the sea...

Isn't she lovely...

I gave her my signature

dry brushed gray white mix

and sealed her with clear wax...

One man's trash

another woman's treasure!!!

I will be linking later this week

with my favorite gals!

Much love to all of you

XOXO

  21. Oh Kate I would have carted her home in a minute and she would have found a comfortable place in my home as well. I so wish I could find pieces like these with little life left to them, I always find the pieces I have to nudge there life in the direction of old, making there old age look old.

This is a piece to love, and the display is soulful. Did you say this is in your home, home? or your shop space home? I understood it to be in your home and it is the perfect weathered piece washed with your beauty artistically.

You have inspired me to find something of this despair, I am inspired.

Lots of inspiration in all you seek this coming week.
    xx

  22. WOW Kate, she's amazing! You're amazing! I bought a piece a few years back that has been dying a slow death...maybe you can help me bring it back to life.
You might have to hook it up to an ASCP IV but if anybody can do it...you can.

    Besos,
    Irma

  36. Would you believe I have a dresser almost identical. I bought it over 10 years ago from the Long Beach flea market and it's such a versatile piece that I'll never sell it. Right now it's being used in Ally's room, but for years it was in my bathroom! You did a wonderful job on it and it looks perfect. Enjoy!

  41. Kate, you can turn any trash into a treasure. If only that man could see her now. Mr. Dior is such a good helper. I think you have a keeper for sure! I love your signature touch and yes, she fits right in the Dior home. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
    Hugs,
