Long Beach Flea & New Friendships

Hubby and I always look forward to our "flea market dates" ... Just the two of us, a stop at Starbucks and off we go. Our home is filled with items that we have found together and love...

So here is the story we met this wonderful couple awhile back Tim & Lisa one trip to the flea and  purchased a piece from them. We always looked  forward to their booth display since it was always drew us in. Saturday we made a stop at one of our other fav antique malls in Orange called Country Roads since we have been admiring the newest window booths not knowing that it belonged to Tim & Lisa. Well they were there and we began to chat asking them if they would be at Long Beach Flea the next day. Hubby and I were looking for a new statement piece and wanted a bit of industrial mixed in

and there "it" was in Tim & Lisa's booth...
they are not only such a dynamic couple & multi talented but they are warm and just so inviting to talk with. Lisa was so sweet offering us beverages and giving me ideas of juxtaposition since this piece would be in the same room as my leather chairs and slip covered beach chairs...

they really know how to bring in the crowd their booth was non stop traffic also you can see their amazing finds at Country Roads in Orange. Pictured below is one of the first pieces we purchased from them

Lisa makes the most beautiful bottles and that too came home with us

When I arrived at their booth Tim said " Hey Lisa your new friend is here" he is so charming and lovable. Lisa mentioned to me when I saw her on Saturday that she was going to stop by my blog, she did and left me such a sweet note. That really touched me since they were busy loading and you know how early you have to arrive the next day when you are a vendor at the flea market. What a blessing it was to hang out with them for awhile on Sunday and meeting a new friend...

we loved putting this in our family room

Tim made this table out of barn wood that was 100 years old

his craftsmanship is over the top, I even had storage below

Even the detail in the mirror is exceptional

To Tim and Lisa we are so very grateful for the time that we spent with you such an unexpected joy...

WOW! That is an incredible piece, so unique and it looks great the way you have decorated it. I also love that bottle. Flea markets are the best place to shop. You can find the best one of a kind things and meet the nicest people. I have.

Oh my! Awesome piece indeed. I've not been able to find cool flea markets round here...the ones in my area are full of sequins sweatshirts and expired cereal. Seriously.

You simply MUST take more shots of your home. I'm dying to get a cyber-tour!

Wow Kate! What a COOL piece! Hip and funky and the perfect contrast to your softer shabby chic side! I love the juxtaposition!! That is one of my favorite things....juxtaposition. It's so fun to combine unexpected elements in decorating, fashion, cooking.

We don't have great fleas here....especially in these dreary months. Thanks for the mini vacation! I'm glad you and your husband had fun!

xoxo,

Polly

Hi there! It sounds like the beginning of a very lovely friendship between you two couples - that's always so nice. You are blessed to have a husband who "gets it" and wants to go junking with you.

The bottle is amazing and the tablescape on your new piece looks fabulous.
