Something Old, Something New & my winner

Sometimes you just have to take the OLD

and transform it into that NEW special treasure

that you will cherish forever...

I'm one of those gals who loves to

rescue the unwanted!

I scooped up this OLD trunk headed for the trash.

The trunk was covered in a black covering that was

cracked, warped and just plain yuck!

Mr. Dior has such patience and he razored

off all of the outer shell to reveal

the beautiful weathered wood underneath

New to me coffee table...

There you have it rusted hinges

and OLD weathered wood

Love at its finest...

Later I found an OLD wood crate

that made my heart leap

along with another OLD vintage dresser that

was in need of some New love.

Then I added my NEW pillows that

my friend Loretta sewed for me out

  of an OLD cement bag

that I have been holding on to

with such love for a year now!

Since the cement bag was large enough Loretta

was able to make me two pillows

with zipper enclosure and down inserts...

Gracie girl just started looking at Pinterest

 and fell in love with

the Union Jack!

I grabbed a few old produce wood flats

that I purchased for 3 dollars

at the flea market and we got busy!

Gracie was so excited to help and

make one for her room as well...

I think she kinda got Union Jack fever!

Now for the winner of my Summer Giveaway!

The lucky winner will receive

{2 vintage metal locker baskets}

{coral & driftwood}

Congratulations to...

The very lovely Melinda of the beautiful blog

Thank you to each of you who entered

and shared on your Facebook!

I will be hosting another giveaway

before the summer ends!

Last but not least by far

To my Super Hero

Mr Dior, I love you endless

without you I would be nothing!

Linking up to Kathleen's White Wednesday # 161

Have a beautiful week!

Hi beautiful Kate :)

Thank you dearly for making a visit to my place to then leave such a heartfelt comment, one that moved me like none-other. You my visiting friend know just when ones heart needs a lift, and you did just that.

I am so in love with the trend of the union jack and did a little something with it for my daughter who also loves it, but nothing on your scale and I am so inspired by yours, that chest of drawers is a wow piece, it truly wow's !

Kate I love the older look of your coffee table and you too have inspired with just a little change in a room like changing out a coffee table will simply change and refresh ones style and repeating the same vignette for each or up styling that as well. It makes a big change to your room and makes you look at it and say what have you done different here, making the whole rooms look transformed. It looks great Kate you have inspired me today looking at things with new eyes around here :)

xoxo

That trunk is so unique. Its a great idea that you use it as a table. And that center piece of yours, so indigenous. I never thought figs can be use as a center piece.
