" I Fall to Pieces "

As the summer is slowly fading away

I rescued a few pieces that were unwanted

and unloved...

I found a very large urn

that was in pieces

 left for years outdoors

and now has found a new place in my home...

The owner had no use for things

in his backyard

and well of course I fell in " love " with

each piece.

{ the base will be in a later post}

Every inch of this urn

melted my heart as I filled

it with twigs and dark colored succulents...

I saved a few smaller fragments

that fell off during transporting it home.

I placed them on my table along with

an old rusted chain

that was hanging in the tree...

My heart stopped for a moment

when the homeowner said

I could have anything in the yard

as it was meaningless to him...

I thought again about what is valuable to me

and what is worthless to another.

The precious treasures of my heart

are the simple pieces that life offers...

I cherish love...

I cherish the discarded...

I cherish the unwanted...

The beauty overwhelmed me

and I still have to find a place for the beautiful

base of this piece of perfection.

This week I will be linking up to my

lovelies in blog land who inspire my heart

each and every week...

For those of you who follow me

I will be posting Fall inspiration

from my home using elements of nature this week.

Have a blessed week!!
XOXO

Kate, this is such a beautiful piece. The beauty of this worn and dated piece is stunning and even more so with your accessorizing.

I hope that you are feeling well and enjoying your summer!

I find beauty in ruins as well. I love the urn, and what you did with the fragments. Beautiful vignette, my friend.

Kate,
Your new finds are so beautiful. They have found a good home. And your post has brought me to tears as I think of the spiritual parallel. Jesus is love, he cherishes the discarded and the unwanted. When we have no one else, he is there. I hope you have a wonderful night. God bless you.

I was so glad that you rested the pieces that broke off next to the urn! She is a beauty, for sure! I would love to hear the story of where you found her.. of the man who was generous to you and let you have what tickled you so! What a great stroke of luck to have happened upon this treasure!

I have a garden statue with that same crusty exterior. Everytime I dust her a little falls off, but that only adds to her charm. I sure wish I knew what was applied years ago to create that finish.
Hmmm...maybe you can figure out a way to duplicate it and fill me in!

As it should because it inspires us as well. I often return just to gaze over your creativeness Kate, not saying or leaving a word but, just to return quietly and leave touched by your words.
I have meant to write you about your artful blogging feature adding that one night I could not sleep and went to my issue to read again, it's your humble approach to life and how you embrace it that touches and inspires. I read on and onto the next page until I weeped, I was so taken with your strength and braveness, it really added to what I needed to hear right then and there. God knows what we need at that very moment and gives us nothing we can't handle. Kate you make handling things that much easier through him.
A simple post like this one shows us who shows up in your life right when you need him to. Small blessings and totting treasured finds show up with beauty when we least expect them to !

I love this mirror, so wish I had picked the one up that I glanced over at our local thrift, I saw the potential and realized I really didn't need it at the time, now seeing yours so rustic and in the mix of your barn woods I see what could have been with a feeling of how our taste mesh in what we love to create with.

Thank you for sharing your beauty and grace over at my place with inspiring peeks into your world.
I have to mention after my reading of your Artful Blogging feature about a week later I receive an email from Jennifer asking that big beautiful question as to would I love to be featured in the up and coming issue, oh WowNess and again what would I have to say that could even measure up to what has been said before?
I am going to be in the up and coming issue and am excited to see how she works my photos into the feature.

Keep inspiring the works of art you so happen apon.
Kate as for that cement crusty planter urn, I so wish it were a find of mine, it looks so peaceful right among its mix of beauty.

Oh Kate, I was so happy to see you back this week! I was thinking about you and was hoping all was well. Was going to hop over and say 'hi', and then I saw that you had linked up. This urn is fabulous and I am so happy that you rescued it. You have a tender heart and love precious things that many would discard. I too see it's beauty. I love how you filled it with some of Natures beauty! Thanks for sharing this touching post with SYC.

I too have a Heart for what others often fail to find Value or Beauty in... it is a Mysterious Attraction, that until I found the Land of Blog, few others Shared with me. It was so refreshing to Connect with Kindred Spirits here that understood my Passions and often Rescued similar Found Treasures. It made me realize that there are more of us than I Imagined that are Called to the same objects and participate in Rescue Missions. Love your new Salvage Treasures and you always Style them impeccibly, now others certainly can and will see the Beauty of them and in them.
