Kate's in her Groove

I arrived at Country Roads this morning to add a few things to my new space and first thing I see Sue and she greets me with her warm smile then a hug before we walk in. How perfect for where I am in my life while Sue said to me "it all worked out". She was so very right. For those of you who follow me I was diagnosed with Lupus last month and I had to make some rather difficult changes in my life, so I am looking forward to the new journey...

Deep breath as I realize this is me Kate trying to get her groove on despite adversity... knowing God has His hand upon me and is in control of my life.

and for those of you who love my goodwill finds...

turquoise shell plate it's actually quite big

greystone mirrored tray...

Southern Living glass & filler

PB frame, ceiling tin frame & small mirror frame

ok now for the score of the year?

sitting at the goodwill just waiting for me to take it home a suede handbag from Anthropologie in the best shape you can imagine!!!!

even the lining was perfectly clean

and the proof...

yes girls there you have it 6.99...

I was asked by some of my readers if I was a "fashionista" or how do I dress? Well I am doing a post next week on this very topic. Where is Cindy she always is such a catalyst for me, I love that girl.  So for those who inquired "YES" all of my clothes "DO" come from the goodwill. I only purchase new shoes & handbags. For those of you who wanted the wardrobe post it's coming...

There is so much love that pours across these pages and I truly adore all of you!!!

Polly & Sue thank you from my heart for the emails full of love & encouragement to take this next step. My cup runneth over...

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..

Every time you post, I learn a little bit more about what an amazing gal you are.

We can all see how physically beautiful you are, but you are even more so on the inside. You are just the warmest, loveliest, most effortlessly gracious lady I think I've met in my blog travels.

Your new adventure is sure to be a huge success. It already is! You already are! I think you are WONDERFUL!

XOXO,
Anne

At one point, I would have turned my nose up at wearing clothes from Goodwill or any thrift store, but not any more. I have found so many nice things with the tags still hanging off them. Unique items that you can't find in stores. What a way to build an awesome wardrobe without spending tons and tons of money! So now, I shop Goodwill and two of the church-based thrifts we have here for clothing and the Salvation Army for awesome finds. You just never know what you are going to run across! And since I recently had to go from a size 6 to a size 8, thrift stores have helped. Plus, I have no qualms about hand-me-downs from my MIL! I just scored a ton of clothes from her that were practically new. So, as soon as I'm recovered from my surgery, I think I'm going to check out the St. Vincent de Paul near my job. They have the most AWESOME clothes, tags hanging off and all.

Thank you for your kind words this morning. You know what I love about you? You listen! You listen to God, you listen to your heart and then you let life take you to where you belong. Things happen for a reason, whether or not we can figure those "reasons" out at the time or not. Keep smiling as you truly are a very wonderful person.
Take care, Sue

Kate, I'm so so excited for you nabbing a spot at CR. I love Sue and her store! All your things look fabulous, Kate, I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I've been so busy around here, I've missed being able to keep up with everyone. So just know you are in my prayers, and I'm going to keep better track of you!
big hugs,
Debra

Hey we're not that far away from each other...I definitely will have to come up and visit. Love, love, love all your new GW treasures. A few months ago I found a beautiful red "Prada" purse in a thrift store...Red purses are my weekness. Psst,(I'm saying this in a whisper so no one else can hear) notice how I wrote "Prada" in quotation marks. Well, I don't think it's real....shhhhh :-) Best wishes and blessings for your new journey. Sending you tons of hugs.

Love you,
♥Ana
