Finding your soul Kate & my giveaway

remember my new twill "goodwill" sofa that I scored for 42.07

I am pairing her up with some other fabulous makeover

projects that I have completed

over the past week...

this discarded table I picked up at a yard sale for a few

dollars and gave her a good scrubbing along with

some black stain wash and topped her with clear coat

for a rustic finish

I found some shutters that were put out curb side

so they got a gray white wash from me

that adds a bit of color to the corner spot

the lamp sitting on my "frenchie"

was a 2.00 goodwill find that I gray washed as well

and topped with a new 7.00 clearance linen

shade from the local Marshalls store

I love how this vintage lamp has such a modern feel

now with a coat of paint and new shade

I picked up a stack of very old algebra books for a few

dollars at a yard sale and they are so unique

remember that vintage headboard from my space at

I brought her home and sanded most of that gold paint

she was wearing and gave her a more subtle dress

then I placed her with a distressed coffee table to give her

a new look as she returned to the STORE

I hung another old shutter for depth above her

and added some dried branches for texture

I have a thing for dried branches

and twigs along with rust...

and for the finale

one lucky reader who leaves me a comment will

receive a 50.00 dollar gift certificate to use at

for the Memorial Day sale

and for my out of state readers

you will receive a 50.00 gift certificate

to the store of YOUR CHOICE

Good luck to all of you!!!

if you send over someone make sure they
reference your blog in my comment section
and I will include another entry for you
xoxo

Hi Kate,

Loved this post! I think what you did to your living room is fabulous! I have that same lamp, also from GW but I paid $16. I have been looking for a shade just like that. It looks like an Aidan Gray lamp! Love it. You are amazing at what you do, keep up the great inspiring work.

Love,
Kari

Hello Kate! I haven't been up on my blogging and visiting as much lately - busy with the kids and stuff. So glad I came by, I always enjoy catching up with you. Believe it or not, I do pray for you often. What a beautiful story you shared about your son. What a warrior he is.
I also love all the pics. I visited the STORE a couple of weeks ago and your space looked great like always. I picked up one of your adorable little chubby birds - so cute!
Well, I hope you have a great week.
Blessings to you,
Missy

You are so stylish Kate! I always love seeing what you're up to! I LOVE the frenchie table!! I was at our local Salvation Army last week and there was a cream twill brand new loveseat for $39.99!! I thought of you!! I would have bought it but they won't help load and I was all alone that day!

Hope you had a happy Easter! I have been busy with some family stuff and other things so not doing much blogging anymore. Not sure I'll have my blog much longer, but one of the gifts of blogging has been meeting you!! We'll have to keep in touch when I hit the delete button! :-)

Wholly Toledo Kate, I wanna visit YOUR Goodwill. What amazing finds. I'm esp. loving the lamp. I also like the idea of adding twigs with the burlap. I'm thinking that I might to make something similar this Halloween maybe spray painted (would look great on the front door). Thank you for your great inspiration

Aaah! I love it! I have shutters just like that in a corner in my living room. I painted them in my favorite aqua, a coat of antique glaze, distressed them and they look gorgeous! I also have a vintage lamp that I topped with a linen drum-shade. I admire your style so much, so I feel that I must be doing something right!
You know, the more I see how beautiful that headboard looks the less I want to sell mine. You're killing me! lol
Both your home and your booth look absolutely KATE-ALICIOUS! If I win this giveaway I'll be shopping in YOUR space!

Hi Kate! Everything is just beautiful! I can't believe that you found that couch for 42.00... crazy! Your room looks like it must have cost a fortune and yet you make silk from a sows ear. I'm so kicking myself in the pants now after seeing your gorgeous room. I am painting another guest room. Went to the basement to all my many gallons of oops paint and wondered "tan or robin egg blue for walls?" I tossed a mental coin and went for the blue but am thinking I should have dossed again. Oh well, it's only paint and 5.00 gallon Behr paint at that so I can change if I get tired of it which is not going to happen unless I get the stuff on the walls pretty soon.. oops enough of my digressing- love the room!

Oh my I would love to shop your lovely shop too- so wish I was closer to all the great places in blogland!

Does Good will have gift certificates!?

Love what you have done to your living room. So many of you out there can find such great stuff at Goodwill, here there is nothing or if it is there they think it is an antique store. Anyway I do love looking at what you have done. I especially love all the gray. I have always loved gray, it is such a soothing color.
