"Look for Less" & my winner

I always look forward to sharing

our " Look for Less " projects

when Mr. Dior & I team up...

This past week I really

was striving for spring/summer

 change while stretching

that dollar as far as I could.

This project had Mr. Dior really stumped for

a few minutes. We stumbled upon an old broken

canvas folding chair lying near a

 trash can in the neighborhood.

When I asked him to put it in the back of our truck

he gave me quite the puzzled look.

I knew right away that I was going

to marry it with a piece of glass

that I salvaged from an old coffee

table I picked up at a yard sale for 4.00

Mr. Dior removed the arms

and the torn canvas.

I sanded the frame and added

the dry brushed white/ gray

The glass was heavy enough

so I placed it directly

on top of the chair frame

{old director's chair}

It was perfect and then for

a quick end table I grabbed

an old water bottle stand that

I found for 5.00

and added the round glass table top

that you can purchase at Anna's Linens for 7.99

Just enough to add a lamp and

a piece of coral...

I wanted a lighter area rug

for the spring/summer season

and was over the moon when I

found this one at the Goodwill

for less than 40.00

Our local Goodwill sells return stock from

our local Target stores.

This rug retails at Target for 179.99

It was new still in the plastic and I love

the jute woven blend that was

the perfect texture for this room...

Everything in this room is almost

ready for the new season

Just a few finishing touches

here and there for the Dior home...

What I truly love about

working with a neutral palette

is how accessories can be interchanged

from room to room.

With the exception of the coral

each item was found at a yard sale or

our local Goodwills...

Coral from my friend Loretta

I would like to congratulate

the very talented Stacey Steimle

who won my giveway by random draw

Much love to each of you

I love what you did. Did you just set the glass on the chair bottom? Is the glass heavy enough to be steady or did you secure it somehow. Loooove it.

Hi Kate ~ Isn't it so much fun finding something that someone does not want and feeling like you just found a treasure. Nice transformation! I feel blessed this weekend as I found a free shabby chic chippy window frame with glass panes, except for one that is missing. I posted it on my blog if you wanted to see it.

God Bless You,

What a beautiful room you have created!!! Isn't it a joy to create beauty from items others have discarded?!? And you do it sith such FLAIR!!!

I wanted to tell you how touched I was by a post you did a while back where you talked about your health issues, and the blessings you have known through them, as difficult as it is to live with chronic illness. You wrote as someone who has eternal perspective and who so obviously has been touched by God's grace. I shared your post with my daughter who as a young mom, struggles with several health issues that affect her daily living.

Your faith has been an encouragement to many. Thank you for sharing your beautiful heart.
