Playing Dress Up

I remember this day...

The anticipation...

the happiness inside...

When my darling Gracie asked if she

could use my wedding dress to play dress up

 precious memories were flooding

my heart as I opened the box...

That evening I would marry

the man of my dreams...

My beloved Mr. Dior

We had so many beautiful moments

on our special day...

unforgettable...

When I spotted the wood shutters at the flea

I knew they would be perfect to hang the gown

for my Gracie...

A bundle of dried lavender

 fills a gray washed basket

to add that rustic feel...

My beautiful memories

bring forth new meaning as

I will be able to watch her

" play in my dress "

I will surpise her when she comes home from school

the gown will be hanging

on the old wood shutters in her room...

She was so precious and sweet in her little gown...

I can't wait to snap

a few photos of her wearing it...

I'm hoping to find a vintage garment rack

to add a few gowns for playtime with her friends

Gracie has grown since her toddler days...

and now

I will be linking up with the lovelies

this week in blogland...

Post dress up photos to follow...

 Wedding photos

Have a beautiful and blessed week!
XOXO

What a wonderful moment and memory you will make for her.
So sweet of you to surprise her.
I know you will capture the special feeling of her day in your dress.

It must be wonderful to have that feeling over your dress still.
My dress was donated after my wedding, I had no connection to it...they lost my real one and I had to settle for a replacement :(

You look so happy in your beautiful dress, Kate. I love the simplicity and that brown sash for just a little added color:-)

I'm sure Gracie will love getting all dressed up in it and feeling like a grownup.

Ahhhh she will look so sweet playing dress up in your wedding dress! I can just picture her wearing it as she walks down the aisle. And now I'm tearing up. (Aren't you glad you didn't "trash the dress" now?)

Oh, Kate what a beautiful day you lived , and what a great Mom to your Gracie going as far to create a place to hang your dress of white so she can play and dream. Your putting that dress to better use by letting her make her own beautiful memories playing dress up. Every little girl wants to be a bride, and how often these days does any daughter wear her mothers dress for their own wedding, giving her a childhood wedding dream is even better yet.

Thank you for sharing your love, and your sweet Gracie.

Ps Kate for years now my Hannah when she was young said to me when she grows up gets married and has a daughter she would love to name her Grace... Now she has a couple names she has added to her like list.

Encourage your Gracie's dreams and play time:)

Just beautiful, Kate.
Gracie is definitely her mama. Beautiful, beautiful girl!
Thank you so much for checking in on me. I was so touched by your message, Kate, and of course, the tears started to flow. We got hit hard here on the East Coast...but thank God, we are all okay and suffered minimal damage compared to those at the NJ Shore, NY... they've lost everything. Please pray for these people.
I'll call you in a few days.
Thanks again for your comforting words. You have no idea what it means to me. xoxo
